Pintucks are a versatile textile element that may be utilised in various ways to give texture to clothes. They are made by folding the cloth and stitching 1-2mm from the folded edge. A little ridge appears on the garment's surface when the fabric is opened flat. They are frequently used in many rows and at varying widths, primarily parallel, to produce directional effects. Pintucks can also be used to create patterns or subtle decorations on a garment, creating visual interest.
