The brocade fabric is made when the pattern thread, and weft thread, are inserted between the warp threads. These threads create intricate designs that give brocade its distinctive look. The weft thread travels over and under the warp thread in regular weaving. However, when brocades are woven, the pattern threads are passed over and under multiple warp threads, creating more complex designs. These threads, made of metal, silk, or zari, give the fabric a beautiful shimmering effect.
