Chinon

Chinon Chiffon was the first non-silk fabric available to consumers. The material was constructed of nylon, which was acclaimed at the time as a wonder fabric capable of replacing virtually any organic textile. However, several issues with nylon as a chiffon fabric quickly surfaced, and for a brief period, most chiffons were made of silk.

The majority of Chinon chiffon in the market is now made of polyester.
